It is not every day that you come across unique and creative fashion which depicts culture strongly. What is so common these days are clothes having common fashion themes for a few months that questions whether creativity in the fashion world is dying a natural death. However, this is not so because there are designers in the light of Ms Vandana Talwar (founder and fashion designer of Evanna Fashion House), that exist in this world.It was an awesome refreshing bout of sweet smelling air which can only be made with the diffusion of a rose’s aromatic and therapeutic odour to encounter such exquisite unique apparel and jewellery designs which were a feast for my and anybody’s eyes at not only one fashion event but two; Singapore’s Top Make-up Artiste Award 2018 & Tatinis Art & Fashion event.I was so mesmerised and amazed to see unique and beautifully designed dressers and jewellery that flattered the curves and body shapes and brought out the true strong and creative character of the models. The catch is that the models came in all shapes and sizes and it was evident and the models wore the apparels with pride which helped them to walk the runway with confidence and gusto. Beauty and elegance coming alive in the models. My eyes stood attention to the intricate and elegant designs of the dressers and jewellery as the models sashayed passed me.I asked myself how did this designer achieve this amazing feat. I had to ask the fashion designer herself. I made an appointment with the designer to fan my burning fiery red hot desire to find out the answer.As we ordered our latte’s at my favourite cafe outlet, Tea leaf Coffee Bean which always invites me to her place when her aromatic smelling coffee brews into my tingling nostrils. The heart is strong but the fresh is weak so I always find myself settling down in one of her exquisite design chairs drinking my all-time favourite, hot chocolate, however, this time I was not alone.The ever friendly Ms Vandana Talwar laid the cards on the table. It all started after her graduation from Raffles Design Institute of Singapore. She, as a woman, wanted to showcase the power of achievement of a woman if she is bold, brave, creative and sets her mind to achieve her goals. With this mission in mind, she decided to fuse her mission and designing skills to create clothing for both men and women who knows what they want in life, are brave, energetic, creative and knows how to overcome obstacles to achieve their goals. For this goal, the designs had to be edgy and versatile.She founded Evanna Fashion House in 2011 and out of the ashes like a phoenix rising and soaring into the unlimited sky, the labels Agragrami, Bohemian Jewellery, Rent amenity and eco fashion brand – Mikhadi were created. The most famous of them is Agargrami.Ms Vanada Talwar has since become a well sought after designer in the fashion industry and has participated in various fashion exhibitions and attended various international overseas fashion week events. Her famous fashion brand, Agragrami was very well noticed at Miami fashion week and Mercedes fashion week AustraliaAgragrami , derived from the meaning Avant Grande is a contemporary fashion label, which reflects the spirit of the time. It caters to thrill-seekers, fun-lovers and adventurers. Those who truly knows how to enjoy and appreciate life.She is a woman who loves to be different. She loves the uncommon sense of life and I can relate to that. This is one thing we have in common. We are exceptional human beings. Therefore, being exceptional, she will look for exceptional design concepts. Geometrical constructions and abstract design forms can have been seen in her creations. Her apparels designs are loud and brings them alive. In order for her apparels to come alive, it is somewhat designed a little bit bigger but it still flatters curves and silhouettes and perfect for any body types.Remembering and honouring one’s roots has always been Ms Vanada’s main life principle. Her other label Mikhadi does exactly that purpose. It looks after those who are in India and want to wear something comfortable. The material is made suit the Indian climate. It remains cool in summer and warm during winter. It brings out the meaning of her culture in her apparels.The fabic used is khadi fabric. It is appreciated for the firmness of their material. The range of clothes that can be made with it is wide and stretches from blazers, jackets and Tunics to handbags for women and men.
